The Evening Ritual |
|
|
Locals flock to little bars scattered over the centre where they mingle with friends over wine and tapas in one of the the south’s liveliest cities. The evening ritual begins around 8p.m. when what seems to be the entire population fill the streets and descend on tapa bars throughout the city.. |
The corner café
Is there a corner in Malaga without a café? In this mild Mediterranean climate streets are crowded with diners day and night. Old favorites: boquerones, tortilla, jamon Iberico and fresh clams can all be found all over the city. Some of the better places are hidden away in back streets and well worth seeking out. Others can be found at the beach cafés, 'Chiringuitos'.
Innovative dishes can be found at many of the more formal Malaga restaurants like Restaurante La Deriva on Alameda Colo.
Leading us to temptation
Sitting at a tapa bar the customer is forever confronted with the sight of delicious food. Hungry or not the temptation to try a small bite is always there. Despite all this eating Spaniards tend not to be grossly overweight.
