The beautiful White Towns of Andalusia, or Pueblos Blancos, are found in the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga, mostly within the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. They are characterised by whitewashed walls and red or brown tiled roofs and many are within easy access of the Costa del Sol and city of Malaga. |
MIJAS
Mijas is situated inland about a 20 minute drive from the Costa del Sol. City buses from Fuengirola provide a service about every hour. From many streets visitors get a spectacular views of the Mediterranean coastline and the layout of the town is an unmistakable reminder of its Arab past. A tour through its lively streets reveals a typically Andalusian town steeped in history and full of charming corners.
NERJA, A charming seaside town an hour north of Malaga and is often referred to as the ‘’Jewel of the Costa del Sol’.Here the 'Balcon de Europa' offers spectacular views over the Mediterranean, along with a colourful history.
Beaches in Nerja...Quiet sandy coves make a pleasant change from many of the crowded beaches around the Mediterranean.
COMPETA
North of Malaga is the white village of Competa, high in the mountains towards Granada. There are daily bus services from Malaga.
