Beside The Sea

Valencia is one of the best cities on the Mediterranean coast featuring a variety of beaches less than than a 30-minute bus ride from the city centre. The nearest and most popular is Playa Arenas which runs north into Playa de la Malvarrosa and Playa de la Patacona. It's bordered by the Paseo Marítimo promenade and a string of restaurants and cafés.

Sunday at the beach, late October it's still sunny and warm to go sailing or hangout on the sand.

BRINGING THE BEACH ALIVE...
Joaquín Sorolla, The Painter of Valencia

Sorolla is famous for his dextrous representation of the beaches, landscapes and people under the bright sunlight of his native land. Among his most well-known works are paintings of Valencia's beaches made in the early 1900s.

Beach eats always includes Valencia's national dish, paella...and it's likely to contain seafood here.
